Etiquette & Manners

Simple Etiquette is important for many reasons.  But the most important is that it communicates respect for others.

Etiquette is culturally bound.  What is considered good etiquette in one culture, or even one family, may not be good etiquette in another.

Etiquette is important because it helps people establish expectations of others.

In a very important way etiquette and manners are like a social contract or law in that they codify a set of behavior.  However, there is no set system for punishing transgressions.  The primary form of punishment is social disapproval.

What I teach here are my etiquette rules.

  • Respect everyone
  • Listen more than you Talk
  • Say Thank you a lot
